San José State University was one of the first colleges in the U.S. to offer the saxophone as a major instrument. This proud tradition was begun by William Trimble and is now proudly carried on by his former student, Dale Wolford. In addition to private weekly lessons, saxophone studies at SJSU include the Saxophone Ensemble, saxophone quartet coaching and guest artist master classes which have included Dale Underwood and Otis Murphy from Indiana University.
