I’m a big believer in the benefits of attending a summer music camp--it’s a great place to immerse yourself in music learning with other highly motivated musicians. In addition, you can have a great time meeting new friends, enjoying the great outdoors and other activities depending on the camp. Here are some camps I recommend that I have either been part of or sent students to in the past:

Hayward-La Honda Music Camp - held in the redwoods at Camp Jones Gulch on the San Francisco peninsula.

Cazadero - held in the redwoods near the Russian River.

Silver Lake Band Camp - In the Sierras south of Lake Tahoe.

Lafayette Summer Music Jazz Workshop - held in Lafayette for students who want to improve their jazz chops.
