Moving on to the next stage of my life...

After much contemplation, I have decided to leave SJSU after 10 years. I have so many fond memories with great students and supportive colleagues, but I have found I can no longer afford to work there as an adjunct due to the low pay.
It has been such a pleasure teaching at SJSU--I’ve enjoyed watching my saxophone students grow musically, directing the SJSU Saxophone Ensemble--encouraging the ensemble members to arrange for the ensemble and develop their conducting skills. It’s also been very fulfilling mentoring student teachers and helping them get ready for their careers while watching and learning from their “master” teachers in the field of music.
I’m NOT retiring! I plan to ramp up my private teaching with a new studio at West Valley Music in Mountain View, and at my Castro Valley studio. I also will continue to play with the Premiere Saxophone Quartet, Wolford-Rosenblum Duo, San Francisco Symphony and Ballet, Symphony Silicon Valley and more—even though I know I’ll miss my SJSU students. I’m excited about this next phase of my life!
